Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use the PSX Games Downloader application, also known as PSX Games & ROM Downloader (the "App").

1. Personal Information We Collect

PSX Games Downloader respects your privacy. Our App is designed to function locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or phone number.

The App does collect limited, non-identifying technical data through the service providers listed below: anonymous usage events (for example which screens are opened, whether a download started, completed, or failed, and whether an ad was shown), crash reports and diagnostics (device model, operating system version, app version, and error stack traces), and a randomly generated app instance identifier used to group this data. Usage events never contain your search text, file names, or full download addresses.

2. Permissions and Data Access

To provide core functionality, the App requires certain permissions on your device:

  • Storage Access: Required to save downloaded ROM files to your device's local storage so they can be played on emulators.
  • Network Access: Required to connect to ROM catalog servers, fetch game lists, and execute direct downloads.
  • Notifications: Required to display background download progress in your system notification tray.

3. Third-Party Services

The App queries publicly available third-party websites and CDNs to aggregate download links. When you initiate a download, your device makes a direct connection to these external servers. We do not control the data collection practices of these third-party servers.

We also use the following services, which process data on our behalf:

  • Google AdMob: serves the rewarded and banner advertisements in the App and may use your device's advertising ID for ad delivery and personalization, subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Firebase Analytics (Google): collects anonymous usage events and an app instance identifier so we can understand how the App is used and improve it.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google): collects crash reports and diagnostic information so we can find and fix errors.

You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/privacy. Uninstalling the App stops all collection; the data above is not linked to any account and cannot be traced back to you by us.

4. Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
